Case: Charging devices to Valtra plant in Suolahti, in Central Finland
Plugit Finland has supplied electric vehicle charging devices, complete with reporting system, to the Valtra plant in Suolahti.
Baseline: New enquiries for EV charging possibilities
Valtra, a manufacturer of tractors with a plant in Suolahti in central Finland, expects the number of electric and hybrid vehicles to increase significantly in the near future. The rise in the amount of EVs has been seen in the company from the enquiries, from customers and employees alike, about the possibility of charging EVs and plug-in hybrids. “Valtra wants to play a part in promoting a more environmentally friendly use of technology, and to be prepared for the change in technology that is to come”, says Tommi Terävä, Valtra’s maintenance manager.
Valtra contacted Plugit concerning the construction of charging points, and Plugit was involved in the specification and supply of the charging points from the very beginning of the project.
Solution: Branded charging devices and reporting system from Plugit
For Valtra’s needs, Plugit recommended Chago EVF200 charging devices, which Plugit furnished with branding according to Valtra’s requirements.
Valtra’s charging devices are for the use of both company staff and visitors. For members of staff the charging device is activated by RFID (radio frequency ID). Visitors can have their car charged by selecting a charging point and then notifying the company’s Info desk staff of its number, whereupon the staff will initiate the charge by text message.
Plugit’s reporting services enable user-specific, monitoring and reporting of charging events on the device. In addition, the system allows you, on a general level, to keep track of e.g. the amount and costs of charging events, and also the amount of CO2 emissions that have thus been reduced.

Comments on the cooperation:
”The best thing about the project was that Plugit took total responsibility for the supply of devices and were also able to furnish the chargers with our branding. Plugit’s knowhow of charging technology was of help in selecting the right type of device, and the end result corresponds extremely well to our needs at present”, says Valtra’s Tommi Terävä.
Plugit’s delivery and maintenance service also received praise: ”Delivery, installation and implementation of the devices went smoothly. User support also responded to our questions promptly. Plugit’s remote services are quite indispensable, as the technology is still relatively new and customers can experience problems in matters relating to vehicle charging”, Terävä acknowledges.
